She was not ready
to awaken from slumber
so she rolled over
pulling up her white covers
snuggling in a while longer
#MicroPoetry #SOL18
Though I wrote this Tanka poem as a metaphor for winter, it aptly described my own lack of motivation yesterday morning as a snow day allowed me a bit more cuddle time.
What a beautiful piece filled with imagery.
I love the personification of winter here and love how it serves two purposes: to describe Winter and to describe just how you were feeling. A beautiful poem, Paula. Let’s all help roll her out of bed, hand her a packed suitcase, and wave goodbye. She has overstayed her visit!
I love how your winter has its own personality. I am envious of your snow day! Glad you got to stay in and cuddle!
Waiting anxiously
For the weekend
So I can recreate
My friend Paula’s
Luxurious relaxation technique
Extra cuddle time is the best. Most of us feel the same way. Thanks for another great poem.
